Graphics I designed for a full length documentary film by Shahane Bekarian. A film about how genocide, particularly the one imposed onto the Armenians, affected the children of not only the time but also their successive generations, and how it continues to kill a culture through dilution.
The decorative type, inspired by Armenia’s ancient religious masonry work, was juxtaposed into a modern crisp typeface and brightened by the colours of the national flag. I took the old papery feel with crisp text motif into the name supers and maps. The line work in the title reflects a piecing together of families and identity. Distant links around the world that make Armenians whole, while also resembling a shattered effect.
I also led the designs for the marketing material involving t-shirts, flyers, and DVDs.
